BioShock 2 (Remastered) playthrough Part 1
1This video was recorded nearly three weeks before the second part, thanks to illnesses preventing me from being able to record for quite a while. I apologize for how long it took me to be able to upload this.
So, the Remastered version, which the reviews keep stating is unstable, is the one that actually works for me. The original version crashed trying to go into level 2. But here we are at least, able to actually play the game. BioShock 2, the game I've chosen for my three year anniversary celebration. It's unusual that I stream a game without having done the sequel first, but I really want people to play the first game for themselves. It really is a classic with some good twists, not that that's stopped me before. But for me, I really wanted to give this second one a fair shake. I'd tried a few times and just never got into it.
In fact, I'm already considerably further than I was before. And so far? I like it. They took one of the ideas from the first game and flipped it around, gameplay wise. You are the Big Daddy, and have to protect the Little Sisters while they collect adam. You are again offered the choice to kill them for more immediate rewards, or try to be a good person and save them.
However, once you get past the mechanics of the game, things start to fall apart. The setting already had some problems in the first game, that so many areas were leaking water yet never filling - and that deep in the ocean, they'd be filling fast. Even the air pressure would be fairly intense in order to have the compromised sections not just implode on themselves the instant there was a failure point. But this one compiles that with you personally. Being a Big Daddy, you're in a diving suit. Which they use a few times to let you in the water. This means that all the time you're eating, drinking, or smoking, you're supposedly doing so through the helmet. And you are somehow being shot repeatedly without compromising your suit. It doesn't work. And the thing is, the underwater sections are going to be some of the worst. Because you can't use your weapons then, so it's just walking from one place to another, exploring around a bit, but no real action. They should have changed some things to make up for the fact that you're in the suit, but these developers didn't think it through. -- Watch live at https://www.twitch.tv/the_nametag
