Well, despite my saying I was going to do the Plasma Pack episode first, the maps in that very specifically say they are episode 6. So even the official pack references that it comes AFTER Cryptic Passage. So, instead, I am indeed loading up Cryptic Passage, and we'll see how WizardWorks handled a Blood episode.

So far... I am not impressed. They do a few things that the base game avoided. Even though I was annoyed with it in the base game, thematically the way they decided to implement "medkits" does not work for me. WizardWorks just placed life essences around the map. They act as medkits. But... they're not. They're life essences. They are basically the souls of your slain foes. Having them just laying around feels off.

They DO, however, manage to make long, dense levels. So they're keeping that tradition. A little less detail though, and they don't utilize the TNT barrels as well. They also tend to group different enemies together, which combined with the weapon switching, makes some fights quite hard. A lot of hitscanners so far as well, since they're the "basic enemies" in the game.

What really concerned me, however, is the third level. There's glitches in it. Texture glitches, several of them, causing some problems with points in the game. It's a library, but there's no "book shelf" textures, just.. rock walls. And some of the textures seem to be too large, and overlap areas they're not supposed to, at one point hiding some enemies from me. I don't know if this is exclusive to the Steam release, of if the game actually shipped that way, but I plan on finding out. It is a low point, however, VERY sloppy. -- Watch live at https://www.twitch.tv/the_nametag
