Much punching
I spent a good 2 hours with this game before typing this. The game is basically rugby (some people compares this to Blood Bowl, but I've never played it so I cannot say for sure) with some magic powers. You target is of course to get more points than your opponent and you'll earn points not just by scoring but also by knocking out your opponents. There's 16 teams and each have their own special power that can be used during the game - fireball, stomp your opponent, freeze, send a cyclone, superheat the ball, water fall and many more. I found some magic powers to be better than others (I didn't try them all yet) and some even too powerful and yet some seemed a bit useless. However, perhaps with more practise you can turn most special powers to your advantage.
The game features 4 games mods - Grundge Match, League, Tournament and Multiplayer. 5th mode is a Scenarios mode where you can really test your skills by trying different challenges. I beat the tournament few times and it was quite fun. You can play against 1, 2 or 3 teams at same time. When playing against multiple teams the match becomes quite messy and framerate drops. To be honest, I found the game to be most enjoyable when playing against just 1 team in versus match.
Playing against computer was OK, but frustrating at times. I found controlling the goal keeper was quite hard and many times opponent was able to score easilly because my goalie was just running around. Also when playing against computer I found that making a goal was fairly easy by just following the same patterns, such as running on the side and using your special power to stop your opponent on attacking you and then just basically run inside the goal and there, you scored! You can see exactly what I mean from my gameplay video. I believe the game must be at its best when playing the multiplayer mode against your friends or random people via internet. I for sure will try that soon!
In conclusion: Game is good, fast & brutal, graphics are smooth and gameplay is fun. Game crached on me few times and I hope these small bugs gets fixed during future updates. So if you are interested on this type of games I can recommend to try this, especially if you can find friends to play against with.
