Moving on...
Bomberman 64 is, obviously, a game where you're some man who has bombs and blows things up. On N64! More importantly, it's a pretty solid rework of the traditional Bomberman concepts into the 3D space. Ye olde corridors style gameplay was taken out and made into full 3D puzzles, which seems inevitable seeing that after so many SNES and Gameboy titles, the gameplay had evolved beyond just blowing things up, to solving puzzles for the exit. One that comes to mind for me is on a Gameboy title (I don't remember which, there were many) where you had to constantly bomb a fire barrel to keep the area lit up. There isn't anything exactly like that here, but its an example of how the gameplay had changed.

And it continues here. Instead of just destroying things, you have to explore a bit and solve puzzles to reach the exit. Really good players will seek out the gold cards to complete the full game.

Hard mode is different from normal in a few ways:

1. Target times are decreased
2. Gold cards are moved into harder places
3. You can't get your heart back from taking damage

I do think hard mode was intended to be done with the 'full power' cheat available after finding all 120 gold cards on normal, but eff that, we do things hardcore around here =P.
