We use 3 examples from our own Dungeons & Dragons games to illustrate why you might want to break the rules in your own game of D&D. Ultimately we are all playing a game and the goal should be to have fun. Breaking the rules to add to the story and player enjoyment should be a regular thing for a Dungeon Master or Game Master in our opinion. As long as you are consistent and are doing it to add to the gaming experience at the table for everyone.
