28Build and customize your own chatbot using the free Neural Chat library from Intel. This demo shows how to get started, and to quickly customize your chatbot with your own data as well as voice input and output.
Building a chatbot using traditional methods requires the ability to build and train a large language model (LLM), which is beyond the resources of most. Fortunately, foundation models, such as those hosted by Hugging Face*, provide a good starting point from which you can customize for your needs.
Neural Chat is a free library from Intel that provides high-level building blocks that interface with Hugging Face Transformers. This allows you to build a text chatbot with a couple lines of code. It also provides the ability to plug in extensions, such as fine-tuning or retrieval-augumented generation (RAG), to customize the chatbot with your own data. There are also plugins to add voice input and output to the chatbot.
Finally, Neural Chat is built on Intel® Neural Compressor, and it provides simple transformer-specific ways to optimize your model for the best performance on whatever Intel CPU, GPU, or accelerator you need to use.
