So Touhou is a game series of generally 3rd person shooters, or "shmups" as the hip young folk like to call it. But rather than spaceships or planes or something, you essentially play as a girl. The cast and characters is quite large for the entire series (over 100), but their diversity makes it more fun for the fandom with favorites.

Besides the interesting gameplay difficulty, the two big parts about Touhou is the fandom and the music. The music is very good and pretty various in tone where a little of anyone can get into. I was literally introduced to the series and it's music by a metal head. The fandom is even crazier with what it produces, from tons of actually sold products and cosplay to tons of fanart. If you've actually never seen any of the stuff Touhou related on the internet, then YOU LITERALLY MUST HAVE BEEN IN A BOX. It's common on Google, 4chan, gaming websites, YouTube, Japanese sites, any booru site, Minecraft skins, usernames on games, etc. Literally so much is being produced by fans of Touhou, by the time you finish this video at least 10 doujins of p*rn will be released, statistically.

It's only sold in Japan, btw.
