You won’t believe how happy I am for fluking this all the way from 3%… but it makes me have mixed feelings towards this level now. You see, I originally had in mind to give this 0/5 but then I realized I had only given that to 2 levels prior that we shall not name and it didn’t feel right. Let’s just skip to the good stuff or alternatively known as the worst parts of this level.
Everything is fine up until 57%, okay we had few sudden transitions, some confusing things, bad blending of decoration and gameplay but… If Tidal Wave almost didn’t get rated because of how it looked, what on earth is that part at 57%-70%!? I usually complain about the gameplay but that’s all good, the decoration is hideous! It’s like a three-year-old picked up a wrinkled piece of paper from the trash and tried to draw their happy summer beach time with cheap shitty Walmart crayons all in the span of 21 seconds. This level should be unrated just because of that but believe me there’s more!
At 73%-80% we have… Beach volleyball minigame that no one asked for! I came here to play some fucking Geometry Dash not secondhand market Pou minigames. There’s no explanation whatsoever what you’re supposed to do here. I had to watch a video and it helped nothing because I was already doing the right thing that just wasn’t working properly. I mean okay it’s pretty clear what you have to do, it’s just not as simple as it looks because the ball doesn’t work, it’s very precise (especially the first sudden throw at you) and can I also talk trash about the opponent because its animations suck (floating eyes and body parts and all that). I realized while I was editing this that there are mysterious symbols at the bottom that show you when you’re supposed to jump and hit the ball but I have to wonder how many people have realized that besides me. There’s really no time to be looking around the screen when a beach ball is suddenly thrown at you and there are no clear indicators to look down to the ground at the symbols. They don’t stand out at all and become part of the background and decoration. At the end it did get consistent but how long did it take to learn?
If I didn’t fluke this I would have definitely given this worse rating but I feel with time my wounds have healed. The decoration is inconsistent, the beach volleyball part is so much harder than anything else in the level and you have to play pretty much full 2 minutes of gameplay just to get one shot at that part from 0%. I can’t really recommend this level to anyone and once again I can’t believe this is in something called “The Hall of Fame”. This barely deserves a star rate in my opinion. I’ve also changed my mind on the difficulty, I feel Insane Demon is little too much since the only hard part is the minigame but it is located 2 minutes into the level. Hard Demon works fine.
