Can an Air Tower handle an Intel i9 CPU? Corsair A115 vs Intel Core i9-13900K
231Prawn here with a little experiment. I wanted to see if Corsair's A115 High-Performance CPU Air Cooler could handle a hot and powerful CPU. I've only just recently tested whether a 240mm all-in-cooler could manage a Core i9-14900K (https://youtu.be/_qJp8EOA9Uk) so now I thought it would be interesting to do the same but with an Air Tower instead.
It's worth noting that obviously there are other factors outside of this test that could influence the results. For example, in the last test I was using an Asus motherboard which has AI overclocking that could have been skewing the results. This time I'm using a slightly different setup. Specs of which are below.
Note that for the sake of fairness I've tried to keep the fan format roughly the same. i.e.
3 reverse blade TL120 Intake fans on the bottom
3 TL120 LCD reverse blade fans on the side
4 TL120 standard fans for exhaust
