Farside Prototype is an idea, not a full game, but a very interesting one. The developer describes this game as a side-scrolling survival shooting game!

Your spacecraft accidentally crashed on a strange planet and lost all contact. With only a few resources left, you need to go to a human colony for rescue. Only a detection robot beside you. Embarking on an unknown journey, facing horrible alien monsters, solving difficult problems along the way

The art direction is very interesting with beautiful hand-drawn environments and simple shooting mechanics. There is a surprise cameo as well in this demo!
