Capcom Fighting Evolution / カプコン ファイティング ジャム (PlayStation 2) (Guile / Ryu)
Capcom Fighting Evolution (known in Japan as Capcom Fighting Jam) is a crossover 2D fighting game released for the PlayStation 2 in 2005. The game brings together characters from across Capcom’s fighting franchises, including Street Fighter II, Street Fighter III, Street Fighter Alpha, Darkstalkers, and Red Earth.
Each series’ fighters retain their original gameplay mechanics and fighting styles, such as unique meters, combos, and special systems, creating a clash of different eras and mechanics in one arena. The roster includes 23 playable characters, with stages and music inspired by their respective games.
While it received mixed reviews for its limited roster and balance issues, Capcom Fighting Evolution stands out as a unique experiment that celebrated Capcom’s fighting legacy on the PlayStation 2.
