Sadly the demo was only 45mins worth of gameplay, thankfully that 45mins is transferable to the final game. In the 45 mins we got of hands on gameplay, I'm very impressed. On the surface you think it's just another monster catching RPG in a sea of well...indie monster catching titles (Monster Crown, Temtem, Coromon, Entomon to name a few), but in the end it's so much more. You start off by creating a character, simple but deep enough for the style of game. You wake up on a beach after being zapped through a colorful vortex. You meet Kathrine, a sweet and spunky Irish girl who seems to have been here in "The Wirral" for a awhile now. Seems people from all walks of life and time periods have wound up here, stuck. In this world are beasts that can be recorded on tapes and used in battle. This is where it differs, you PERSONALLY change into the monsters that you record on these tapes using walkmans. Turns out we can also FUSE together into one beast under the right circumstances. The game seems to tease an "open world" concept, which is cool since the whole game's story mode is completable with a second player (if you wish to). So far, the hype for this game is real and I can't WAIT for it to hurry up and drop already.
