Filmmaker Yibing Jiang breathes life into the special bond between a father and his ailing daughter to highlight the fragile nature of life, love, and the healing power of music.
Written and directed by Yibing Jiang, a female filmmaker from Wuhan, China, WiNDUP portrays the connections between a father, his ailing daughter, and the healing power of music. Created using regular home-office desktop computers and Unity, this award-winning animated short film showcases what it is possible to create with real-time animation in a touching story about the fragile nature of life, love, and what it means to never give up.
This film is created in real-time 3D in out-of-the-box Unity 2019.2. WiNDUP was created on standard computers by setting strict rules about poly-count and what features they could afford to use. Examples including using pixel displacement instead of tessellation shader; using joints animation instead of animation caches.
