Resident Evil 2! Classic Game Room presents CGR's ON THIS DAY IN GAMING! It's Halloween! Thirteen years ago - how appropriate - on October 31, 1999, the N64 port of Resident Evil 2 released. Despite design setbacks, the original Playstation survival-horror title provided a truly haunting and cinematic experience that recreated the zombie film's unnerving discomfort. Repeatedly harassed, its tank-like controls and awkward camera angles would heighten the tension of an otherwise straightforward 'Dead' chapter. The N64 port is widely considered the strongest of several, including the ability to alter violence and higher quality audio.
