Chernobylite - RPG/Survival - Part 9 (Finale / Ending) (Normal Difficulty) - No Commentary Gameplay
The final part of my Chernobylite story playthrough. Regarding the ending (Spoilers!):
...
I tried multiple other combinations of heist settings and story choices to see if there was a better outcome.
First, I tried to just let Olivier at home. But then, he appears during the heist when Igor finds Tatyana and reveals to Igor that he was a spy for Semanov all along. He's angry that Igor didn't use his time reversing technology to save Anton and others. When Igor's neutral with him (or below?) he'll shoot and kill Igor. When he's good or higher with him, he'll let Igor pass. This means that Olivier survives the heist. But he isn't mentioned during the ending scene. Later, I found out that only companions which accompanied Igor during the heist are featured in this scene.
So, I rearranged the heist: Olivier as sniper, Sashko and Mikhael as infiltrators, Olga as techie and Tarakon as spy. Being on good terms with Olivier, he'll still show up as traitor when Igor finds Tatyana but he'll let him pass and, since he was part of the heist, he is featured during the ending scene. It is mentioned that he managed to find Anton's wife and child and, henceforward, supported them in place of Anton. Although, this means that someone else dies during the encounter with Semenov, Sashko. I readjusted some story changes so that Igor was nice and forgiving towards Semonov whenever they met but the latter would still set up this trap. Even if I killed Semonov in the lab or after his helicopter was shot down, the shadows in this location would still kill either Olivier or Sashko.
The only setting during which all companions survive is to set nobody as infiltrator at all since at least one always dies. You need at least a techie and a spy to survive the heist. Having Tarakon as techie and Mikhael as spy and being on good terms with Olivier results in every one of those five surviving. But only those that accompanied you during the heist will be mentioned in the ending scene. Quite dissapointing.
One more thing: after Igor finds the corpse of the lock smith's brother in the NRA prison, he can return to Kopachi to tell him about this. The smith promises to open the locked safe in this location. When you return to Kopachi one more time, the safe will be open and revealing an improved flashlight.
