I’m not a big voice, but if I have even a mote of positivity to spread, I will do it. So here it is. I’m not going to pretend to understand everything fully, but it’s okay to not fully understand. If I can impart even a tiny bit of that positivity to you to help, I’m more than glad to. I’ve been making content for years now (before the CassioVT stuff) and bringing just a tiny bit of happiness is something that I know I’m blessed to be able to do.
This whole situation is really screwed. If you want to know where I stand, I don’t think Project Moon is going to go down the right track; I don’t know if they CAN. I’m waiting to find out. But anyways, to give a bit of backstory on when I said “researched,” it really just culminated in an undergrad thesis on media literacy in the COVID-19 pandemic, so nothing very fancy or big.
But what I did realize was that people have a strong tendency to jump the gun and pick sides, lock themselves into echo chambers, refuse to accept information that doesn’t fit a viewpoint that wasn’t built from complete info (both complete in the literal sense, and complete in the “completely true” sense).
Misinformation is and will continue to be one of the biggest problems we face, especially involving things we care about. It makes it harder since this has been started by and continued by openly hostile actors (I’ve seen enough hard evidence of them trying to literally sow misinformation).
Keep enjoying the company of your friends and your communities. Keep supporting the artists that are choosing to stick it out, and the ones that choose not to. Be mindful of everything that is still unfolding and hasn’t happened yet; I want to know as badly as you do, but we have to wait. Wish I had better news. If any shows up, I’ll update the description though. In the meantime: be happy, be hopeful.
There’s a couple other things I was working on PM-related that I still want to get out to y’all, so unless something drastic happens in the next day or two, they’ll be finished and uploaded soon. Continue celebrating the good things with me for as long as they go.
