Chionanthus callophylloides grows as a tree up to 13 metres (40 ft) tall, with a trunk diameter of up to 25 centimetres (10 in). The bark is brown. Fruit is blue green, ellipsoid up to 3 centimetres (1 in) long. Its habitat is lowland mixed dipterocarp forest, sometimes in swamps. C. callophylloides is endemic to Malaysian Borneo (Sabah and Sarawak).
