0Even if games like Sweet Home and Splatterhouse had been made before, Clock Tower could be considered the genesis of the survival horror genre that we know today.
The gameplay hasn't aged well. Scissorman can be easily avoided (if I remember well you can finish the whole game without having to face him more than 2 times if you know where he appears), and the pacing is REALLY SLOW.
I recommend watching this video at a faster speed.
The original Clock Tower was one of my favorite back when I started to play emulated games in the early 2000 and I obtained all the endings back then.
I plan to do this again.
