If you ever have to use Steam voice group chat with friends for any reason, like in our case here with Jerry from China who can't use Discord or Telegram there, there are two things we discovered eventually to make Steam voice chat work better. It's riddled with bugs. The first to stop the cutting out intermittent voice, which Sirius experiences here, is to not use PTT. Only open mic works, there is no work around unfortunately. The second thing is under voice chat settings change Voice Transmission Threshold from Medium to High if you use speakers when playing. Otherwise the mic will capture the background sounds since Steam's noise cancellation and volume/gain control doesn't really do much on Medium. Of course it's not an issue with headphones.
Sirius should start to sound normal within a few videos where we figured these out lol.
