Console Sports Games of 1993 - Championship Pool
Championship Pool is a sports game based around 8 or 9 ball pool and release on the Genesis, SNES and NES in 1993, with all three releases in the US, with the SNES version also releasing in Japan. Championship Pool was developed by Bitmasters and published by Mindscape and Imagineer Co.
Players must face off against 32 opponents in what is called the BCA Regional Championship, with players needing to win a best of 4 match against all 32 opponents to be successful. Unlike most pool and other billiards games you do not see your opponent play their shots instead a pop up screen with the players image and a small caption stating what happened.
The game also features additional modes with a challenge mode with other styles of pool games opposed to the just 8 or 9 ball from the game main mode. In addition to the game challenge mode their is also a party mode for up to 8 players.
