While 2021 may have been a mostly garbage year, Contra for the NES is an awesome game! I'm on a kick right now to get better at it, so this is my first practice run with the 30 lives cheat. I want to record a 2-player run, and also beat it without the cheat sometime. If you don't know, it's a lot like Rambo and other action movies of the 80s, and one hit from anything costs you a life and reverts you back to your puny gun. Spread Gun plus Rapid Fire is the best combination, but Laser deals the most damage in a singular shot. Fire isn't very practical. Ducking is essential, and sometimes your down input can slightly roll forward, causing you to run into bullets: This is probably the number one cause of death and makes you feel stupid every time.
