This is a tutorial video I've done about my method of creating fairways and general design things when I create my courses in TGC 2019.
Please understand that this is my method and the way I do and perceive things, it's not the definitive way to do things, I am still learning and discovering new techniques or better ways of doing things. Since I released this video, or should I say made it, I was only a few months into using the course designer. I apologize for the quality of the video and if I stutter or hmmm a lot, its something I unconsciously do. The sound quality isn't great as I use the mic on my Turtle Beach Headset.
I have mentioned this before, but the way I create courses appears very chaotic and haphazard, I don't really have a plan as such, I just let the terrain dictate the course for me and arrange things around it.
The most important thing to remember is to constantly view the course and lay of the land from the player's perspective and the avatar.
I tend to follow a very basic rule when it comes to bunkers, I tend to put them in certain places that I feel would punish the player if they get their swing wrong or misjudge the terrain. Bunkers also act as a sort of framing tool for my fairways and I have started to be more creative with them.
