England, for the 2nd time, tried to get back territory from Germany. Knowing how much more powerful Germany was, I too declared war on England for the last county of Wales/Brythoniaid i.e. Devon. At the same time, I also pressed my (fabricated) on an Irish county.


I decided to go westward to finish off the war with the Irish duke, since it was easier of the two, before going eastward to war upon England. Didn't have much trouble, just took time because I didn't know where the English army was and so had to wait out 36 months.


The next part I forgot to record: I usurped the title Duchy of Cornwall and then destroyed it, annoying only the the Countess of Devon since I personally held the Cornwall county. However, soon after, there was a revolt against the tyranny of the English king and I noticed that I could press the countess's husband's claim to the Duchy of Essex title. So I created the Duchy of Cornwall title and granted that, along with Cornwall county, to him and then pressed his claim. On hindsight, I could have just granted him only that county. Oh, well.


This particular war was unexpectedly tough because the revolt faction had way more army than the English king. I suspect mercenaries were hired. So I had to skirt around, be patient and pounce on good opportunities.


Incidentally, both the countess and her husband (now a duke of two duchies) were parents of the English king. England's succession law is Elective Monarchy. Hopefully this doesn't bite me in future.
