Well, maybe it kinda is. Retro themed contest this time. Due to very complicated and technical requirements, only six people participated.

Brief summary and notes on each entry:

Stuffman - 0:00 - Eientei Invaders
You are TERUYO. You have 5 different weapons (TREASURES) which are switched by pressing shift. The treasure you're currently using is destroyed if you die, once you lose all five of your treasures or an enemy invader reaches the bottom of the screen, you lose. Every five waves there is a boss wave, and there is a special "final" boss at wave 25. The game loops to fifty total stages.

Drake - 4:29 - Dodge plz
Unfinished. Kill enemies and graze bullets for score.

Thaws - 7:26 - ZXC
Kill enemies by pressing Z, X or C in the correct order shown above their head. Messing up the order resets it for you to try again. Three stages with a boss at the end of each. I wasn't able to show everything due to time contrictions, so this video only shows the first level.

Naut - 11:03 - Assballs
Standard shmup formula with five difficulties. Options awarded for killing boss enemies. Scoring involves grazing many different bullets constantly or else point value drops, and killing enemies to cash in on that point value.

Kylesky - 14:06 - Sonic Distortion\
Your ship's only weapon is a sonic wave emitted in the direction you move, and this is used to kill enemies and get points. Most enemies will leave the screen without dying though, so the primary goal is to survive as long as possible. Your ship is destroyed if it hits an enemy, gets hit by too many bullets or overheats due to too excessive sound energy (moving too much).

Azure - 18:55 - Duality
You control two ships at the same time and must dodge for as long as possible. Has two difficulties for the standard game (Normal and Difficult) and two hidden modes: X mode maxes out enemy spawn rate, while Hyper mode maxes out speed.
