About Dauntless:
Dauntless takes place in a fantasy setting, where a cataclysmic event has torn the world apart, releasing monster-like Behemoths that prey on the surviving humans. Players take on the role of Slayers to take down Behemoths, collecting loot that they used to craft and upgrade weapons and equipment as to take down larger and more powerful Behemoths. While hunting, the game plays as a third-person action game; the player uses a combo system to attack the creature, while monitoring their own health and stamina gauge. Such hunts can take upwards of twenty minutes of in-game time to complete.[1] The game can be played both as single player or co-operatively with up to four people
Dauntless FAQ
How does gameplay in Dauntless work?
Pick the deadly Behemoth you want to hunt, party up, head out, track the beast down, fight it, harvest its power to forge new weapons and armour, find a bigger target. Make lifelong friends and unforgettable memories along the way.
How many Behemoths are available to fight?
There are dozens of encounters against more than a dozen unique beasts. We have some truly tough challenges!
How many weapons are available?
There are currently five unique weapons available to players; Sword, axe, hammer, chain blades, and war pike.
Will there be more weapons?
Absolutely. The smiths of Ramsgate are already hard at work on the next weapon that we'll be adding to your arsenal.
Will there be a ranged weapon?
Yes. It's important to us that every Slayer has a visceral relationship with the hunt and can't just stay on the peripheral doing "pew pew" damage. So, expect a range weapon that still requires you to get your hands dirty.
Will there be cosmetic armours?
You bet. In fact, Slayers with Founder-tier packs will receive one such armour set to commemorate their founding the game.
Does Dauntless support solo play?
Yes. We're always keeping an eye on creating a challenging and special experience for solo players.
Will there be more Behemoths?
Yes. The aether coursing through the Shattered Isles is breathing life into deadly new challenges.
Is it true the Gnasher was modeled after the Beaver which is the national bird of canada?
In coordination with the Canadian departments of wildlife and tourism, we are happy to confirm that Gnasher is a bird.
