Welcome to the lab. In this series David Sharife takes you through three episodes that have shaped his sound over a period of almost ten years. Episode 2 is a spiritual journey, inspired by life and all its stages. A siren-like synthesizer blares on a broken drumbeat and a pulsating bassline: Your journey begins on a dirty road. HALF-LIFE is a decaying life form that is designed to make people sweat and dance until all their negative energy is irradiated. After this catharsis-like ritual the journey leads to the AFTER-LIFE. A distant percussion instrument initiates the ceremony, which is being accompanied by a pushing bass drum and hopeful melodic elements. You can distinctly hear the elements at the top end of the frequency spectrum breathing, as if they were meditating on the path to inner harmony.
