The TRANSITION series shows the trinity of the Factory Prime sound, represented by Kaminski, David Sharife and Aszent. Each with a style of their own, there is a thing they share in common: a passion for the energy of sound.
Kaminski's interpretation, AM PM, is old school to the bone. Raw, percussive elements rattle around the clock over minimalist chord stabs and a vocal sample reminiscent of Green Velvet times. 7 minutes of a rush hour ride into the past of the rave age for your ears. “Can you relate?”
For those of you who don't remember the adventures in the techno dungeons when they were still open, David Sharife demonstrates how dark basements sound like with TRISKELE. A metallic taste remains after the track with its concrete-hard bass and a steel-moulded, hammering main motif, ends after about 6 minutes in a cold, windy feedback loop from the tape machine.
After this short break Aszent continues mercilessly with DIRECT DRIVE. On a solid, low-frequency-dominant framework, howling screeches and distorted, jumping percussive elements build up progressively. Mind the drop and don't bump your head.
