I hope you’ve all managed to take some time off and chill out a bit (and recover from the Christmas binge), everyone here is recharged and ready to kick on with making more Dead Cells.

What's in it?
We have made 2 new mid-game biomes which are alternative paths to Stilt Village/Clock Tower and Slumbering Sanctuary/Forgotten Sepulcher.
One is the Fractured Shrines, which is a load of floating islands connected by ledges that are covered with traps and ready to drop you into the abyss below. When you're not falling you'll be dealing with pagan snake people and giant statues with even bigger axes.
After that you'll enter The Undying Shores where you need to descend a cliff in the middle of a storm. Some caves offer a way out of the rain but they're full of weird experiments and undead healers, so good luck getting out!
Obviously, no DLC is complete without a boss to mess up at the end. So we've added The Mausoleum - the home of a gardener who adores flowers and mushrooms. Unfortunately you are neither of those things...

Dead Cells 21 new Malaise Update And Weapon Color Change
The new biome is called The Derelict Distillery and as with all the other levels in Dead Cells, we wanted to give it a distinct atmosphere. So expect to see loads of old broken barrels and bottles, pipes venting steam, cool looking metal containers in the background - that kind of thing. There’s also some barrels sitting around that you’ll be able to interact with in a couple of ways, some are harmless and others are quite a bit more dangerous...
Explosive barrels + breakable walls
Explosive barrels aren’t just limited to the barrel launcher and enemy abilities. You’ll find them dotted around the Distillery, and if you time it right you can use them to your advantage. Watch out though, because enemy attacks affect them as well so you need to be on your toes. Some mini platforming style sections are thrown into the level too. Yeah, there’s a lot of explosions in this biome…
We've made a few tweaks to the update 20 beta so you should see the following with the latest download:
Important features
Added 3 new achievements linked to the Distillery.
Balancing
Prevent Explosive Barrels to be bumped by attacks coming from the same team (hero or hero skills when blue, enemy attacks when red).
Level design
The Distillery now comes with more barrel dispensers throughout the level. Watch your steps!
Quality of life
Explosive Barrels can now be moved with the homunculus.
Bug fixes
Prevent the Symmetrical Lance and Barrel Launcher found respectively in the Throne room and in the Distillery to be put in the backpack when using a double-handed weapon.
Dead Cells is a roguevania action platformer from Motion Twin that will require you to master frantic 2D combat with a wide variety of weapons and skills against merciless minions and boss.

Main Features

New biome: Derelict Distillery. High Peak Castle alternative, currently available from the Collector area leading to the High Peak Castle.
New item: Tesla Coil! A medium-range, multi-targeting, shock inflicting turret.
New item: Barrel Launcher!: Throw explosive barrels on enemies. Just make sure they don't throw it back to you.
New OST: You can now choose between the original version and the brand new demake/8-bit/chiptune version of the soundtrack in the Sound option menu.
