Death Note - Anime Review
Welcome to my review of the classic 2006 anime series, Death Note. This is my first time watching the series all of the way through, and wow, it is easily in my top ten favorite anime of all time now. This is a 37 episode series that adapts the manga of the same name and follows the main character, Light Yagami as he finds himself with the power of the Death Note. Starting out as using the notebook for what he sees as a good thing, Light kills prisoners, murderers, and criminals, but soon finds himself corrupted by this unholy power as he has to continue to outsmart L and later Near. The whole cast of characters is great from Light, Ryuk, L, Misa, Rem, Higuchi, Mikami, Mello, Near, and the whole Japanese Task Force, including Light's father. I loved how they continued to up the stakes throughout the series with all of Light's methodical plans continuing to fall apart. Some people have said that the second half falls off, and while I agree that the first half is definitely better, I really enjoyed the closure that the series had to offer, and I especially loved the character Mikami who only appeared toward the end of the series. I just wish they did Misa better. That poor girl. My next anime series review is going to be on Sword Art Online. Thanks for watching, let me know your thoughts in the comments down below, and have a great day!
