Deponia (Live, Blind) - Part 1: Fly Me to the Buffoon
A blind livestream of Deponia, a 2012 point-and-click adventure game by Daedalic Entertainment for the PC, starring the world's worst adventure game hero. Part 1 of 5.
In this part, we meet Rufus, a citizen of Deponia who will do whatever it takes to leave his literal junk heap of a home. Rufus takes forever to pack his suitcase, puts the finishing touches on his jury-rigged rocket, and launches himself into the sky, where he lands on an Organon ship carrying the orbit elves' princess, Goal. In an attempt to save Goal from some dangerous pursuers, Rufus accidentally knocks her off the ship, and it's not long before he finds himself back on the ground as well. While the townspeople on the surface debate about what to do with this now-unconscious woman from the sky, Rufus hatches a plan to claim the princess he allegedly rescued for himself. While all this is going on, I'm spinning yarns and commenting on the game design and making excuses for my adventure-gaming skills.
CONTENT ADVISORY: Deponia contains some strong language, adult content, depictions of tobacco use, cartoony violence, brief nudity, and questionable moral choices, such as leaving the wire cutters behind when there was clearly still room in Rufus' pockets. Viewer discretion is advised.
