I'm using the GMDX mod found here: http://gmdxmod.com/ which improves the graphics and to some extend the AI and difficulty.
I have never played this game before so I'm running through mostly blind. I say mostly because I'm not restricting myself from watching other playthroughs if I get stuck, but I prefer experiencing the game without any big spoilers.
Deus ex is a dramatic or literary term, shortened from "deus ex machina," which refers to when "a seemingly inextricable problem is suddenly and abruptly solved with the contrived and unexpected intervention of some new character, ability, or object." -

The year is 2052 and the world is a dangerous and chaotic place. Terrorists operate openly - killing thousands; drugs, disease and pollution kill even more.
