Dino D-Day - Release Gameplay (Allied) [Lets Play...]
A quick ten minute video on the new Source Mod game, Dino D-Day
What this game is so far:
- "King of the Hill" with Dinosaurs, similar to Day of Defeat, but needs more fine-tuning.
- Dinosaurs have a weird hit-box for taking damage from the Allied players. While they are hopping, its difficult to hit them.
- When Dino's are lunged onto enemy players for "Finish them" kills, they are immortal, they (Dinos) cannot be killed at all during their scene.
- Game still uses a health bar system, this might be awkward for the younger players since they are used to "Regenerating health" from Call of Duty games or similar multiplayer games.
- No way to regain health, I could be wrong on this but for my hour of playing this, I haven't found a way to gain health back unless you respawn.
A quick way to sum all this up, this game has a TON of potential with gamers around the ages of 18-29 years mark. It's trying something new on a working formula of team-based games on the source engine. However it needs a TON of work and balancing patches. Dinos, as of release, are way too overpowered. 2 or 3 dinos could rip up a team of 10 Allied soldiers like it was nothing.
