14As some of you may have noticed in the last few e34 videos, the disgusting "Oxford Green Metallic" has been upgraded! The new color is a metallic gray by summit racing. I did not get any footage when spraying the car, but we did loads of body work, including a sunroof delete. the car was primed, sanded some more, and painted. The engine bay and full interior are paint matched to the outside. the inside uses a single stage where is the exterior has clear coat.
When painting we ran into several issues involving chemical reactions. we are by no means professional but if you feel as if I could help in any way DM me or comment below. The harbor freight polisher worked better than expected.
Before polishing or paint correcting your car definitely do research. In wet sanding and polishing it is extremely easy to burn through the paint leaving you with no choice but to re-spray.
