Does it run ... on Linux? Ep. 2 Revisiting Saints Row 3 port
Taking a look back at the linux port for Saints Row: The Third from 2016 (original game released in 2011) Much to our surprise, it works! BUT for better options/compatibility, running it on Proton does work better.
This series is much in the vein of the old ‘WTF IS?’ that TB used to do - it is not intended to provide troubleshooting, gameplay advice, performance specs, or much in the way of tips. It is simply a very basic “Can it run at all on linux?” using a common linux platform and either native or ‘Steam Play’ / Proton / Wine (with the version provided below.
For more information on whether YOU can run the came, for native games see their respective developer, and for Proton go here first (https://www.protondb.com/) and/or, for Wine, here (https://appdb.winehq.org/)
Proton Build: GE-Proton7-36
Linux Version: Fedora Linux
Nvidia GTX 1080
Intel i5 4590 (no hyperthreading)
