Don't Let Me Down (Slowly) (RB3 Version) by The Main Drag Full Band FC #5386
First of all, yes, this does count as an official FBFC, as it was available through xbox.com and even Elison had it way back in the day. We might also be trying Calling Out 2x, but who knows, we have literally infinite other songs we could be playing with this set-up.
Anyway, to my knowledge this was a test song for RBN2 and the first one pushed through the creators pipeline just to see that everything worked. Obviously they never played it on RB2 before Blue made it through, which I regard as a legit criticism considering how hard they wanted people to upgrade to RB3. It does make sense that it would be an upgrade of an existing chart just to save time, and it explains why the chart is so half-assed, not that any John Drake chart was great to begin with. But it does give a few questions as to what could have been with this idea. If an RB3 version of a Main Drag song is this easy to get closer to fully realising, why not actually take the plunge on a few more, or at least this one? Licensing can't have been that hard in this instance; I mean, it's the charter's own band. Not that anyone, either the players or the authors or the RBN testers would have wanted a flood of re-releases, either, but it seems like a weird outlier regardless.
But as with any unsolved mystery of the Rock Band Network, everyone even vaguely involved left the company years ago so we're just left with this funny little one-off. I mean, they didn't even port this version to RB4 like they do with every other RB3 Version. The nerve, right???
