Good day ladies and gentlemen it is Commander Panda here and I would like to welcome you to my brand new series on the individual characters in don’t starve and the DLC reign of giants and shipwrecked. In this series we will be looking at their pros and cons of the individual characters how they affect the game play as well as the play styles that they each suit. So let’s get straight into it. Our first character Wilson, Wilson is the face of don’t starve and is often viewed as the protagonist of the game. This awesome game trailer featuring Wilson is said to be what really kicked started Don’t Starves Success. Wilson is aspiring scientist with wacky w hair who is transported into the world of Don’t Starve by his evil radio. When after a long day of no success experiment in his house he hears a voices radiating out of his radio. Later revealed to be Maxwell. He enthusiastically follows the radios advice creates a mysterious machine that when activates teleports him to his demise. He is the very first character that you unlock upon buying the game and is a good overall character. Wilson starts off the base stats of 150 health and hunger as well as 200 sanity. This makes him a great all round character, that many new and old players will enjoy playing. His only Perk is his beard which grows over a period of 15 days increasing in size at 4 days 7 days and 15 days. His beard can be harvested at any time with a razor for beard hairs, wielding 1 beard hair at 4 days, 3 at 7 days and 9 at 15 days plus. However if Wilson dies and resurrects he will lose all beard growth. These beard hairs are used to craft the meat effigies. This allows players to easily access meat effigies early in the game, which allow you to resurrect after death. The beard also acts as insulation during winter allowing for an easier winter. However if Wilson dies and resurrects he will lose all beard growth. In the reign of giants and shipwrecked DLC Wilson’s beard will make Wilson overheat faster making it advantageous to shave during summer or dry season. However Wilson greatest advantage is the fact that Wilson has no disadvantages this means that players can enjoy the original don’t starve game. This helps keep the game simple and a little easier for new players. Wilson suits players looking for a feel of don’t starve without the interference of a ton of disadvantage and advantages. Overall Wilson is a good player for beginners to the games as he has no disadvantages and the beard and good overall stats which help players to not survive.
