Small but extremely dangerous map. This is basically a set of small underground sectors that all branch away from a central outdoor platform. This central area is a deathtrap, due to the combination of hazardous waste, revenants and chaingunners, which have line of sight on the player, good range and high ground. And let's not forget the specters, that, while not too much of a threat on their own, still manage to hinder one's movement in an already critical situation.
Getting the first secret right on the first room makes things soooooo much easier... A soulsphere and a suit of armor really make a diference here.
All in all, an interesting enough map, but it's name doesn't really suit it. For a map named "the catacombs" it isn't really the claustrophobic, long and mysterious level that one might imagine. But it isn't a worse map for that either.
