Making structures that give a false sense of scale and distance.
Plus bullet proof glass windows.

I cant remember where I got that spaceship image from. So all credit to the artist.

There are no special additions to the original Doom64 engine to achieve these things. All this could have been done on the N64 if it wasnt for limitations of file size.

pls check the file to see how bullet proof glass is made.
Its basically a very thin wall then extends from the ceiling down to... but does not touch the floor.
Nor is it in contact with any other structure... only the ceiling.
Then textured with 'blank' texture.
The resulting segment is completely solid and impassable. And no weapon can shoot through it.
Only downside. Monster can not see through it.

The textures used for the moving space ships are actually quite huge. Like a ribbon of mainly blank texture cut to the length needed to get the ship scrolling timing right.
These only look convincing if the player's angel of view is restricted . The illusion of them having depth is lost when viewed from to harsh an angle.
