My next sneak peek is in a megawad by a guy who contributed recently for DBP projects. He made his own 33 levels megawad, Ascensia and messaged me about it's existence. So I thought to at least make a sneak peak of it, just to have a short view of it and have my impressions.

It's a quite nice pack of maps, there are things I am not necessary a fan of, but others that I adore, and definitely something I'd like to play from start to finish soon (but in private and not as a longplay, that's why I make the sneak peek category, for these big WADs I am not planning to record fully but want to give some attention at least) as some of the later levels become much better and gorgeous and with good fights of about 200-300 monsters but no more. Another element of it is the use of additional monsters, weapons and items, just like NeoDoom. Usually I have a hard time getting used to too much of it as they add new elements in the gameplay that one has to familiarise with (and I'd be lying as I did adore NeoDoom which does that constantly, although I adore it for other reasons). So, I am not sure I am always a fan of having to bother with much more weapons and items in my inventory, although that's a matter of taste. What I like of this wad is some of the details and gorgeous skies used, especially in later levels. And a lot of the monster fights, while intense, they don't become tedious slaughtermap, but they are fair and fun to go through. I would prefer if the first few maps were simpler and with fewer monsters and then as you progress through the levels the monster arsenal escalates to bigger numbers. And I didn't enjoy as much that the first level and few, were so chaotic and tedious in searching around (later levels become better and more open) and getting stuck in cramped spaces.

Anyway, I think this one is worth checking, despites the few things in the beginning that don't necessary sell it, but later maps are much better and worth playing for.
