I really, really dislike the special stages. For context, this is the last try from my last attempt of like, five or six overall attempts at this special stage, with 30-40 or so continues burned trying to get just this one. These are just so unfun for a variety of reasons:

-Falling off loses you a continue
-The UFO Catcher itself is VERY tanky, taking like at least 6 hits to break. I've broken the one on this stage once out of said 30-40 tries and the emerald escaped because it was right at the end of the course.
-Actually hitting the UFO Catcher is hard because of how fast it goes, requiring careful boosting or accurate Orbonaut/Jawz usage.
-The UFO Catcher itself is a physics object, so you can get knocked off course by it pretty easily
-Since this is part of a Grand Prix, every continue you burn on this negatively affects your rank, so you have to essentially one shot this to be able to maintain an A or S rank overall.

I also don't know what's up with the "you look like you're smoking and burning out" animation that keeps playing when doing these, there's nothing that explains that (like many of the mechanics of this game that the lengthy tutorial doesn't actually explain).

If the above somehow hasn't persuaded you from trying to go for the Chaos Emeralds, feel free, but these are rough and this is only the SECOND special stage. I only have one emerald and I barely got THAT one!

I honestly think that like, any of the above problems needs to be toned down for these to be more reasonable. The UFO Catcher needs to be less tanky or less evasive or shouldn't be able to throw you off course and costing a precious continue. Something. It's just a really unfun mechanic to throw at the end of a Grand Prix you did very well at that can just consume your hard earned ranking.
