In the small village of Lancel, they have a very big shrine where people can test their courage! How does someone test their courage, you wonder? By venturing forth into the Navel of the Earth...alone! No assistance, just one person versus the cavern. Which means the best candidates for the job are people who can defend themselves very well, have means of healing from injuries, and are capable of escaping. Who fits that description? Well, our hero does, but so does someone else!
