disk: gpt partition table.
dual boot: yes, with EFI partition(fat32).
install with USB, F12 and ... UEFI line.. and install.

after install new os, if grub screen menu boot not show, try open BIOS, and select 1st is ubuntu.
reboot to boot ubuntu
and inside ubuntu run terminal with command:
$sudo update-grub
you can see name of os added to grub menu boot.

disk is msdos partition table(created when windows installed)

MY Rule Install:
F12 to boot install
if your disk is msdos then select line-menu no "UEFI".
if your disk is gpt then select line-menu have UEFI.

in bios, check UEFI boot or Legacy only, if Both is ok.
if Legacy boot then your disk should is msdos PT
if UEFI boot then your disk should is gpt PT

msdos = max 4 primary partition + unlimited logical partiton
(inside extend partiton), no EFI partition.

gpt = all are primary, no logical, have EFI partition(store boot).
