During an investigation into whether or not loot boxes are gambling with the UK Parliament's Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee, an EA Representative said something hilarious.

Apparently, loot boxes are misnamed. They're actually "surprise mechanics" and are a lot like Kinder Eggs. People apparently like the surprise and EA thinks we don't know what we're talking about.
