I speak about easy money mistakes to avoid and potentially save a lot of money on a yearly basis. Following these tips can have a positive effect on your Personal Finance.
This is mostly based on personal experience and common sense:
1) Do not take High-Interest Loans or Credit Cards... ever if possible.
2) Do not order take out every night, get cheaper higher quality food from the supermarket.
3) Do not be tempted to buy every song, game, movie and any sort of entertainment for a collection when a lot of free or cheaper perfectly legal alternatives are available.
4) Check when your mobile contract will expire to make sure you are not paying too much on a bad tariff after you paid off your phone.
5) Do not keep a Gym membership if you are not going.
6) Do not buy premium coffee/tea out of habit, just make it yourself and save a lot of money.
7) Do not get scammed by clicking links in emails or entering credit card information anywhere online you are not directly buying something from.
8) Do not be in a relationship with a partner who takes all your money and gives nothing in return.
9) Do not keep lending money to friends who never return it.
10) Do not stay in the same job for 10 years hoping to be promoted, if you want a promotion go apply for the new position and higher pay at another company. Do not wait.
11) Do not drive to shop 5 minutes walk from your house, if the weather allows or your shop is not huge.
12) Do not invest in stocks if you do not understand the investment, and go into any type of gambling only if you happy to lose the money.
13) Do not buy items on Sale only because they are on sale, do you actually need it?
