Inspired from the video game Deadly Premonition, we try our hand at making the Sinner's Sandwich on this episode of Ed vs. Food. As with most of the meals we make this was very experimental. The recipe for this meal can be seen below.

As always these videos are inspired by Johnny Oldschool's series Bad Combos, which can be seen at his website: http://johnnyoldschool.com/, or on his channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/MrJohnnyOldschool

The Sinner's Sandwich

Turkey and Gravy

2 turkey legs
2 cups chicken broth
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup cornmeal
2 teaspoons minced garlic
Himalayan salt
Pepper

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Wash turkey legs and remove skin. Place turkey legs in a roasting pan and season to taste with salt and pepper. Top each leg with garlic and pour about 1 cup of broth into pan. Cook for 1 hour and 30 minutes, basting turkey legs every 20 minutes. Add additional broth as needed during this time. After cooking set aside turkey to cool. Add remaining broth to pan and set aside to cool. Once cooled remove meat from bone and remove any fat from broth mixture.

Start gravy first by melting butter in a pot or pan over medium-low heat. Mix in cornmeal until well incorporated. Pour in broth mixture and whisk regularly. Add additional broth or water until gravy reaches desired thickness.

Strawberry Jam

1 pound of strawberries
1/2 cup of honey
2 tablespoons of lime juice

Finely chop strawberries in a food processor. Mix strawberries, honey, and lime juice in a pot and bring to a boil while stirring regularly. Pour jam into a clean glass jar, sealing tightly, and allow to cool.

Cornflakes

1 cup cornmeal
1/2 teaspoon Himalayan salt
3/4 cup water
Honey

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet foil and grease lightly with oil. Whisk together cornmeal and salt. Slowly add water, a small amount at a time, and stir until batter is smooth and thin (until something a pancake batter). Pour onto pan and spread out until thin. Bake in oven until dried and cracked, about 10-15 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool. Crack and tear dough into small flakes by hand and drizzle with honey. Return to oven and cook until crisp and golden, around 40 minutes. Let cool completely before serving.
