"Spritesheet glitch: On very rare occasions, the game will load incorrectly, resulting in erratic behaviour during gameplay. The game will randomly and rapidly flash chunks of the entire spritesheet during play. If it occurs, the game stays this way until it's closed."

After randomly getting this glitch and failing to capture it due to alt+tab crash... i went on my way to keep restarting game until i get the glitch. One thing i like to mention is that the bugged spritesheets can be random, this glitch won't be the same with every time you encounter it.
I wouldn't say that game is entirely unplayable, but if you get the right spritesheet glitch variant the darkness should not be as severe as on my footage.
I decided to attempt doing 1cc with this glitch active, and well... While i'm semi-decent at ichirin and Murasa, for some reason Unzan kept blinding me even further and Murasa did the same thing, so i got skill issue'd by their spells.
