Evanescent Existence (v1.20a) - Unreal - Perfect (NMNBNFBFS) - Suzumi
Turns out I was half-wrong, EE is possible. No I'm definitely not doing EMS.
The major dicerolls are Hooaka's 2nd and 3rd spells, Kuroji's first two nonspells, Samidare May Storm and Clause's opener.
There are many minor dicerolls including both of Kurohebi's boss spells, Aoji's opener, Eastern Garbage Patch, "Tsubakura"'s midboss nonspell and opener, Clause's final.
I'll elaborate on some of the more interesting strategies below.
- On Slit Dragon, if you misdirect the first wave like I do, there tends to be a reasonable gap towards the left of the equals-sign bullet trail left behind.
- On Leviathan, you can misdirect the bubble walls when the pattern swings left to avoid having to make spooky dodges around them.
- Eastern Garbage Patch is easier the higher up on the screen you do it. If you're sufficiently high up and misdirect the bubble walls you don't even have to head into the little pockets to dodge around them.
- After the initial unfocused dash to dodge the black wall on Game Over, remain focused and tap away slowly instead of fleeing to avoid ramming the bubbles that subsequently spawn and erupt all over the screen (they're aimed away from you).
- Hooaka's second spell generally only gives you a fighting chance if the boss moves left initially (even then, you can still get memed by rubbish RNG). I got extremely lucky here and capped it even though the boss moves right . You can see how horrible the wall spawns are - it's very easy to have a large wall swing by and slam you in the face if the boss moves in the wrong direction at the wrong time.
- There's approximately a 75% chance each wave that the top right corner will be a safespot on Hooaka's 3rd spell. Better odds than doing it normally, I'd wager.
- Hooaka's final can be consistently captured by alternating between the top corners and top middle of the screen.
- Samidare May Storm is rubbish but Suzumi only has to luck through one wave with it to end it. This makes it tolerable (my success rate with this strategy is around 70%).
- On Clause's first spell, the downward force doesn't push you to the extreme bottom of the screen. Instead, it stops slightly off the bottom. You want to remain at this height instead of bottomhugging because it's easier to visualise your hitbox when half of it isn't offscreen - makes for reading the fast bullets less scary.
- Remain focused as much as possible on Clause's penultimate, release your charged knives the same way I do, then shotgun to end it before the dumb wave.
- The second phase of Clause's final is best ended as quickly as possible. Stay focused as much as you can and spam 2 power focused charges (you should require 4 not counting the inital 5 power burst).
