Everspace 2 (Steam link at bottom) is one of my favorite games! It turns Everspace 1 from a Rogulite to a space adventure/rpg, with game saves instead of starting over.
The graphics, action, and sound are very fun and satisfying. The characters are mostly dipshits, if I'm gonna be real. But there's space combat, very different ship classes, lots of build options that you can shift around and try stuff. Ship design (color only). The exploration and treasure hunting and mining is all fun and casual. Okay some of the fighting is hard to handle...
I didn't know there was a patch coming--well let's see if my n00b ass can tell the difference! haha
