The Secret Space Mission to the Dark Knight Satellite
By Prof. Alaric Mordain
High above our heads, nestled in the endless expanse of the black void, there dwells a shadowy enigma known only as the Dark Knight Satellite. For centuries, whispers of its existence have haunted the corridors of the occult and scientific alike. Yet it was not until last November, under the guise of a “routine satellite repair,” that a clandestine mission sought to uncover the chilling truths of this celestial spectre.
Discovery of the Dark Knight
While the official records credit Nikola Tesla’s 1899 transmissions as the first evidence of the Dark Knight, unofficial sources suggest its existence pre-dates modern civilisation. Descriptions of a “black star” have appeared in Babylonian tablets, Norse sagas, and the fevered dreams of unhinged mystics. Astronomers have long dismissed these tales as fanciful, until now.
In the dimly lit control rooms of Project Obscura, a covert space agency known only to a select few, scientists watched in awe as radar scans confirmed a massive, silent object drifting in geostationary orbit—a craft forged not by human hands.
The Mission: A Journey Into Darkness
The mission, shrouded in secrecy, involved the launch of the spacecraft Nyx Ascendant. Its crew of three—an astrophysicist, an engineer, and an unassuming linguist with a peculiar interest in ancient glyphs—set out with one goal: to enter the satellite.
Upon approach, the Nyx Ascendant illuminated the satellite’s surface with floodlights, revealing a seamless, obsidian-like hull etched with cryptic symbols. Despite its colossal size, no seams or ports were visible—until, as though sensing their presence, a hatch opened on its own. The crew stepped into the belly of the beast.
What They Found Inside
The interior defied all logic. Rooms rearranged themselves as though alive, leading the team through a maze of shifting corridors. Walls pulsed faintly, emitting a soundless hum that seemed to resonate with their thoughts.
At the core, they found a chamber filled with floating, crystalline orbs. When touched, these orbs projected visions of unfamiliar star systems, alien cities, and strange creatures whose forms blurred the line between organic and mechanical. Most unsettling, however, was a recurrent image: Earth, surrounded by a grid of shimmering light.
The Message
The linguist deciphered the glyphs adorning the orbs, revealing a chilling revelation. The Dark Knight, it seemed, was not a sentinel of destruction, as many had feared, but a watcher—a recorder of history, cataloging the rise and fall of civilisations. Its presence in our orbit was no accident; it had been stationed there long before humanity ever took to the stars.
The final glyph translated to a single word: "Prepare."
The Aftermath
Upon their return, the crew of the Nyx Ascendant were sworn to secrecy and dispersed to undisclosed locations. Their testimonies were buried under layers of redacted reports, but whispers leaked into the dark corners of society.
What did the Dark Knight Satellite mean by "Prepare"? Prepare for what—or whom? Is it a warning of impending doom, or an invitation to ascend to the stars?
As we gaze into the night sky, let us remember that we, too, are being watched.
Editor’s Note: The existence of the Dark Knight Satellite remains unconfirmed by mainstream science. Readers are encouraged to peer deeper into the shadows and draw their own conclusions.
