Simon Commission was appointed in November 1927. This commission was named after Sir John Simon, who was the chairman of the commission.

This Commission was appointed by British Gorernment to investigate the need for further constitutional reforms. The commission had 7 British members no Indian members. This was reon as a deliberate move to insult the self respect of Indians. Thats why when this commission came to India poople greeted the commission with slogan Go back simon
